Rebroadcast - Goodbye Natalie - Goodbye Splendour

"Venus make her fair, I love the girl with sunlight in her hair,

and take the brightest stars up in the skies, and place them in her eyes for me....."

Frankie Avalon Tribute to Natalie Wood

In November 1981, A beautiful legendary Hollywood star was lost forever. But the mystery behind Natalie Wood's death lingers on. Just when one thinks it's been closed forever as an accidental drowning, new information seems to surface.

Even the day of her death is debated. Most accounts state that Natalie died on November 29, while other accounts state she died November 28.

Marti Rulli and Dennis Davern are making it their mission to get the truth out into the open concerning the actual events leading up to her shocking and untimely death. Marti is the author of "Goodbye Natalie Goodbye Splendour" and Dennis was the boat captain onboard the Splendour at the time of Natalie's death.

In fact, Dennis was the only other person on board that night, along with Natalie, her husband and actor Robert Wagner, and actor Christopher Walken.

In the book, Marti and Dennis suggest that the police investigation was insufficient, that the parties involved received special treatment because of their celebrity status, and that a grave injustice occurred when Natalie's death was brushed aside as an accidental drowning.

There were many unanswered questions. Why were the bruises found on Natalie never recorded in the official autopsy? Why did Wagner wait to radio ashore that Natalie was missing from the boat? Why wouldn't he allow Dennis to use the boat light which would certainly had help in the immediate search?

"Goodbye Natalie Goodbye Splendour" is a detailed account of events that led to the mysterious death of Natalie Wood. It is a story told by a haunted witness, Dennis Davern. Those of us of a specific generation remember hearing about the death of Natalie, and may even remember the details that were given out by the media. Now it is time to hear the story from the man who was actually on board that night, and has been living with the guilt that he somehow failed Natalie by not coming forward at the time with what really happened.

Marti Rulli and Dennis Davern are so driven to finally get the truth out to the public, that they have created a petition to have the case reopened. For more information concerning the petition go to: www.gopetition.com/petitions/natalie-wood.html

For more about Marti Rulli: http://www.martirulli.blogspot.com/

"Goodbye Natalie Goodbye Splendour" is available at www.amazon.com and Barnes and Noble

Join us on Thursday, July 8, 2010, for a rebroadcast of this amazing show at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/threewisegirls at 12:00 pm EST., as we talk to both Marti and Dennis concerning what really happened prior to Natalie Wood's death, and how the truth to what happened took on a very distorted spin with the help of the misinformed media, bad police investigating, and Hollywood influence.

TV and Radio Legend Joe Franklin Joins the Conversation!

What can we say about Joe Franklin? His TV show ran for 40 consecutive years and, in many ways, he was the pioneer of the TV Talk Show Format! One of TV and Radio's most beloved personalities ever, Joe has interviewed more than 300,000 people and still counting. Our own Linda Alexander is in that still counting number! Stars like Dustin Hoffman, Liza Minnelli, and Barbara Streisand to name a few had their first exposure on the Joe Franklin Show. What made this show different was that you could have one of the biggest stars in the world sitting next to the lady on the corner that made paper dolls, because Joe talks to everyone. This unique combination is what made the Joe Franklin Show a late night staple for 4 decades. Now you can hear him daily on Bloomberg Radio's Lifestyles segment.

Photobucket

This is Joe Franklin today. This is the smile that greets you as you walk through his office filled with memorabilia from days gone by. Having spent countless hours in that office, sharing a chicken salad sandwich and a cup of tea with Joe, my time with him is so precious to me. He is so sweet and always tells me that I remind him of a young Dorothy Lamour. I want to paint the picture of what you see when you walk in... Joe Franklin's office is filled, floor to ceiling with collectables, and he knows where each item is. There is a path to his desk and 5 chairs where his "guests" sit as they visit this wonderful man, much like the talk show format he knows and loves. His visitors range from upcoming new performers hoping he can open doors for them to stars from days gone by, authors old and new, stuntmen, photographers and the guy that sells hot dogs from the cart on the corner. No matter who they are or where they came from, all of us love hearing the stories that he tells about the stars of yesteryear, as he is sitting behind his desk answering a phone that never stops ringing. Ask him about an actor or singer or dancer and you will be amazed at his knowledge. In fact, Joe Franklin is one of the foremost authorities on nostalgia. He began collecting ephemera in the early days of his show - asking guests for something to remember them by - and his collection just keeps on growing. Throughout the years one thing has never changed, people love talking to Joe Franklin and he loves talking to them!

This wonderful man will be joining the Three Wise Girls conversation on the Three Wise Girls Blog Talk Radio Show June 24, 12pm EST as will Paul Petersen who, when he found out that Joe Franklin was going to be on our show, wanted to stop by to say hello to the man that had him on his show when he was just starting out, too! We hope that you will join us for this show and, all we can say, is get ready to sit back and enjoy or call us at 347 994 3835 and be part of the conversation. We would love to hear your show ideas and feedback, so please email us at threewisegirls@gmail.com, follow us on Twitter and join our Facebook fan page.

Laura Wagner, Film Critic/Film Writer: “And Then I Watched….”

Laura Wagner is resident film critic for Classic Images, the celebrated and iconic tome that is everything classic films. An avid movie watcher from her youngest years, Laura would take notes on movies—titles, actors, dates, other details. She had a notebook, she says, and each time she re-watched a movie, and she did that a lot, she’d review what she’d written, and mark off that she’d seen a movie again. During school lunch, every day, she’d read movie books. At home, once she’d done her homework, she’d read more movie books … and at quite a young age, she started to CORRECT some of the mis-information in some of these movie books.

So begins the story of someone who’s lived and breathed movies most of her life. There’s virtually nothing Laura Wagner can’t recall about a movie. So it was that when she began reviewing movies for Classic Images years ago, she became quite the sensation in classic movie fandom. She also reviews books on the market about industry people—actors, producers, directors, collections and collectors … you name it—the wildly famous all the way down to the barely-known.

Laura knows them all, and she knows their works. Say her name, and anyone who knows anything about the industry knows who it is you are talking about. If you’re an author who’s written a book on classic entertainment—depending on whether Laura liked your book or didn’t—you either shake in your boots or bow at her feet. Her recently-released 2nd book, Let Me Tell You How I Really Feel: The Uncensored Book Reviews of Classic Images’ Laura Wagner takes what she did for her Classic Images “Book Talk” column and removes all the buffers. This is no-holds-barred Laura—and that’s always entertaining. Her first book was Killer Tomatoes: Fifteen Tough Film Dames.

The Three Wise Girls chat with Laura on Thursday, June 7, 2010 from noon - 1 PM EST about her reviews, as well as her more outlandish “outtakes.” In her own words, “Because of space limitations, language or editorial changes, some of my columns have been altered for publication. After all, Classic Images is a family paper....”

Laura doesn’t save herself from her detractors, either. When she hasn’t liked something, she has said so, and often she has heard back from those on the other side of her page. Her book takes this into account by including some hate mail she’s received over the years.

Join us for a conversation you’re not soon to forget. Classic films, producers, directors, authors, actors—the well-known in addition to the obscure … and maybe YOU … no one is safe. Listen in to hear what Laura Wagner REALLY thinks. Call in and share your thoughts: 347-994-3835. Visit the Three Wise Girls Chat Room ... or just listen in.

Jason's Last Ride-The Truth About Trucking

On Thursday March 5, 2009, Jason Rivenburg pulled his truck into a gas station that has been used frequently, and considered to be somewhat safe. Jason was only twelve miles from his destination, but could not make delivery because it was too early. His delivery never took place. Jason was shot and killed as he rested in his truck. Jason leaves behind a young son and a wife who gave birth thirteen days after Jason was killed.

It's a fact that if truck stops were required to provide adequate lighting, cameras and if delivery sites provided secure waiting areas crimes of this nature could be prevented. It's also a fact that they aren't required to do so.

Jason's case is not an isolated event. Stories just like this one are emerging everyday, and it's time the general public took note. Anyone thinking that this isn't a problem that affects us all, needs to walk into the local Target, Walmart, or food store and imagine what it would it be like with empty shelves. It is easy to talk for granted that those shelves will always be stocked, without considering the men and women truckers who are literally putting their lives in danger to make sure family and food clothes on their back.

Hope Rivenburg, Jason's wife, will be joining the Three Wise Girls at Blog Talk Radio this Thursday, June 10, 2010, at 12:00 pm EST, to tell her story. We will also be talking about bill HR 2156-Jason's Law, which is seeking safer and more secure places for Truckers to pull over and rest, without putting their lives in jeopardy.

Joining Hope and The Three Wise Girls, Debbie, Dori, and Linda, are Desiree Wood, a well-known Trucker Driver who writes blogs concerning the real life of Truckers, especially women Truckers, and Deva Hoffman, a self-defense expert with some advise and tips for Truckers to keep them safe.
